I started this quilt back in 2022 with the intention of downsizing my scrap fabric. I made about 6 blocks before putting it aside and moving on to another project.

I came across these blocks again in 2024 and decided to finish it. Each full block is made up of 4 flying geese blocks. Once I had the fabrics selected, it was literally grab, cut and sew. The geese are a bit wonky and the blocks are not square.

I quilted this on my longarm machine using an edge to edge pattern called Single Wave that came with my QCT software.

It quilted out in nice big waves. I did have a few irregularities in the quilting when a cord got caught on the machine. I had to rip out an entire section!!

I added a solid plum binding with my domestic machine. No borders on this one!

The orange floral backing is also leftovers from my stash.

Since this quilt was put together rapidly and wasn’t entirely square, I offset the rows vertically to disguise lots of imperfections!
